Adaptive control of range resources. Drivers compare the current range situation with their range level reference values, which are driven by certain trait and coping skill variables. This leads to a certain efficiency of range utilization. During the field study a total of 79 users drove the MINI E for six months.

The British premium automobile manufacturer MINI is realigning its model range, with a focus on drivetrain technologies, vehicle segments and services of the future. In 2008, MINI was a trailblazer for electromobility in the BMW Group. Electrified vehicles now account for 10% of MINI sales.

The BMW Mini E has hit the streets. Barely one year ago, word surfaced that an electric Mini was in the works. In June about 500 cars were placed in consumer and fleet hands in Los Angeles and New York and New Jersey for what BMW calls a " field trial." It is past the time for R & D for electric cars.

It has been nearly ten years since MINI took a significant, pioneering step with the MINI E ( earlier post ) and laid the foundations at the BMW Group for the development of electric mobility solutions to production readiness. More than 600 MINI E cars entered service worldwide for the purpose of the field studies.

I have seen the future and it is a new car electric car from Nissan. Nissan is about to drink GM’s milkshake with a breakthrough, affordable, next generation electric car that will be beat the Chevy Volt to market, cost half as much and work twice as well. Plus it looks ten times cooler. Really Ford?

by Chelsea Sexton Slanted, anti-EV reporting is hardly a new thing, and I suspect we're in for a lot more of it in 2011 as plug-in vehicles hit showrooms. But the recent BBC "Mini Adventure," a 484-mile journey from London to Edinburgh in a Mini E, has caught fire like nothing I've seen in a while.

The web was buzzing last week with stories about BMW’s MINI E. To recap, BMW will be leasing 500 MINI Es from dealers in New York, New Jersey and Southern California starting some time early in 2009. Those of us familiar with powerful EVs were curious where the drive train for the MINI E originated.
