Brands respond to Plug-in Car Grant changes with price reductions and new models

The UK Plug-in Car grant aims to stimulate the sales of electric cars by slicing a chunk of the price. Recently the value of the grant was reduced and the number of models eligible dramatically cut. Any car above £35,000 was no longer eligible for a £2,500 discount. The list of eligible models remains healthy , but it was hoped this would grow as car brands worked on their prices to get their model on the coveted list.

A return to Japan is expected around late February. Frankfurt buys 13 Solaris hydrogen buses

The company In-der-City-Bus, which is in charge of public transport in Frankfurt, Germany, has awarded a tender for 13 hydrogen buses to Solaris. The Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses are to be deployed on target routes in 2022. The Urbino hydrogen buses are powered by a 70 kW fuel cell stack. Electric power is transferred directly to the driveline, consisting of an axle with electric motors.

The 20 new buses are the first of their kind to be launched in England; the new hydrogen fuel cell double decker buses are first being introduced on route 7 between East Acton and Oxford Circus. Antelope Valley adds 16 more BYD electric buses to fleet

Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) is growing its battery-electric fleet with the purchase of 10 K11M 60-foot articulated buses and six K7M 30-foot buses.
