'Virginia Clean Cities announced that 1,000 vehicles have been successfully converted to run on propane autogas through the Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program (SPADP). The Program is supported by funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and the US Department of Energy’s Clean Cities Program. 'A study by a team at Texas A&M University found that cylinder-to-cylinder variation in a multi-cylinder diesel engine increased substantially when transitioning to a low-temperature combustion (LTC) mode. LTC regimes are seen as a promising low-emissions, fuel-efficient alternatives to conventional diesel combustion. The researchers started the study, reported in the International Journal of Engine Research , to investigate the potential influence this effect could have on the emissions levels.

'The United States Senate passed a five-year farm bill—the Agriculture Reform, Food, and Jobs Act of 2013 (S.954)—containing more than $800 million in mandatory funding for energy programs. 'Neste Oil, the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel (NExBTL), has signed a contingent commercial off-take agreement with Cellana, an algae biomass developer based in the United States. The agreement will enable Neste Oil to purchase Cellana’s algae oil for use as a feedstock in the future for producing renewable fuel. The agreement is contingent on Cellana’s future production capacity and on compliance with future biofuel legislation in the EU and US, among other factors.
