As it turns out, news of Teslas demand death in Germany have been widely exaggerated. This is highlighted by the same poll that was used to frame the narrative that 94% of car buyers will not buy a Tesla in Germany. So no, Tesla is not done in Germany. Nowhere close. The Survey and the Reports A look at the Tesla news cycle over the past few days would show that one of the biggest stories about the electric vehicle maker involved the results of a survey from German publication t-online.

RBC Capital Markets analyst Tom Narayan cut Tesla’s price target from $440 to $320. RBC is the latest firm to lower its Tesla price target. Ahead of Tesla’s plans to roll out a fleet of commercial robotaxis, the company has gained its first permit in a series of those needed to begin operating driverless ride-hailing services in California. On Monday, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) announced the approval of Tesla’s application for a charter-party carrier permit, which licenses the company to run ride-hailing and chauffeur services in the state, according to a report from Reuters on Tuesday.

General Motors is expanding a recall it issued last year as it discovered more vehicles affected by the problem. The recall, which covers a problem that could cause the wheels to lock up, now impacts more than a half-million vehicles from Chevrolet and Cadillac. The November 2024 recall hit almost 500,000 vehicles over an issue with the transmission, and this most recent action pushes the total past the half-million mark.

Chinese automaker BYD on Monday unveiled a new high-power charging system which it plans to deploy at thousands of locations in its home country. As reported by Reuters, the BYD “Super E-Platform” enables megawatt charging 1,000 kw of powerand can add 400 kilometers of range, or nearly 250 miles, in five minutes of charging at that peak, BYD founder Wang Chuanfu said during a livestream from the automaker’s Shenzhen headquarters.

Hyundai is further expanding an offer of free home chargers or public-charging credits to buyers of the 2024 and 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 lineups. This perk was previously offered to owners of the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N performance variant, and then later the entire 2025 Ioniq 5 mode line, but Hyundai confirmed Tuesday that it’s now available to owners of 2024 and 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models as well.
