Cummins will launch the next engine in the fuel-agnostic series, the X10, in North America in 2026. This engine, named as part of the X engine family, is positioned to replace both the L9 and the X12 with the versatility to serve both medium- and heavy-duty applications. The engine is built on Cummins’ fuel agnostic platform.

Eaton has introduced Procision, a new line of medium-duty dual-clutch transmissions, that delivers 8 to 10 percent better fuel economy than a similarly equipped vehicle with a torque converter automatic. In addition, transmission load on the engine is actively reduced when the truck is stopped for increased fuel economy.

Eaton announced that Volvo Trucks will offer the Eaton SmartAdvantage Powertrain in all VNL Series models in order to maximize fuel efficiency in linehaul and regional haul applications. Downspeeding provides additional fuel savings for every 100 RPM we can reduce engine speed. Ten forward speeds and two reverse.
