BYD Auto reportedly has sold less than 100 of its F3DM (dual-mode) plug-in hybrid electric vehicles ( earlier post ) through August. Earlier this year, the Chinese automaker unveiled the e6, the world’s first 5-seater EV that can run 400 kilometers on a full charge, at the Detroit Motor Show.

BYD introduced its F3DM dual-mode hybrid electric vehicle to the world in December 2008 and started direct sales to individual customers in March 2010. The company recently launched the e6, a pure electric vehicle and established itself as the first manufacturer in China to commercialize taxi business with its e6.
