Chrysler’s Dodge brand introduced the 2014 Dodge Durango full-size SUV at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. The new Durango competes in the full-size SUV segment, which with 900,000 units sold in 2012, has jumped 82% since 2009. Durango’s standard 3.6-liter EPA fuel economy estimates are not yet available.

Today I have a 2024 Dodge Durango Alchemi (we're not going to follow Dodge's capitalization on this one, we typically don't follow the OEMs' style, though there are exceptions) parked in my garage. Pros It will surprise no one that the engine is a "pro". In general, the Durango works well as a people/stuff mover.

With Stellantis opting to supplant the HEMI V8 with the Hurricane inline six-cylinder engine, there was a gnashing of teeth from Mopar fans who viewed the change as unpleasantly European. It’s now the Dodge Durango’s turn, with Stellantis announcing “last call” editions of the V8-equipped SUV.

In news that will surprise very few of you, Dodge has announced that it will continue building Hemi V8 engines. The automaker said it would offer the Durango R/T and SRT Hellcat through at least the 2025 model year, but as history has shown us, theyll likely stick around for far longer than that. All of this makes sense.
