The California state fleet has reduced its petroleum consumption by 13% compared to a 2003 baseline, according to a state progress report. In 2003, the state fleet consumed 38,559,715 gallons of petroleum-based fuel (gasoline and diesel), according to the report. 281,619 gallons gasoline equivalent (gge) of CNG and propane (7%).

Introduced at the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF), the MT-EV WIV features a lightweight, aerodynamic design for improved efficiency. The new design was engineered to allow for improved aerodynamics without giving up the functionality of the vehicle. FCCC first introduced its plug-in, all-electric WIV chassis earlier this year.

The all-electric MT-45 chassis is expected to go into full production during the first quarter of 2011 and will undergo testing with major US pickup and delivery fleets. FCCC initiated our all-electric project well before stimulus money and federal grants were available for alternative-power transportation projects.
