AC Propulsion has delivered an AC Propulsion-powered eBox to the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where it will be used to evaluate Vehicle to Grid (V2G) operation as part of a research program. With V2G, for example, a fleet of EVs plugged in to the grid could balance the variable ups and downs of power generated from the wind.
Ørsted and Liquid Wind AB have reached an agreement under which Ørsted will acquire a 45% ownership share of Liquid Wind AB’s FlagshipONE e-methanol project. Liquid Wind AB plans to establish a series of facilities across Sweden to decarbonize the maritime sector, of which FlagshipONE will be the first. Earlier post.).
When charged with renewable energy, battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) such as IONIQ 5 produce up to 81% lower well-to-wheel lifecycle emissions compared to a normal ICE vehicle, according to a 2021 study from the International Council of Clean Transportation (ICCT).
Two weeks in on a trip to Denmark and my perspective on weather and transportation had shifted. So were the electric Teslas, Nissans, Renaults, Betterplace vehicles, and Danish cars of the “International Mayor’s EV Parade,&# a couple days later. And the international press did its job. It was a dark and snowy night.

According to an International Energy Agency (IEA) forecast, green hydrogen has the potential to fulfil 17% of the global energy demand by 2050. Green Fuels project, Denmark; a partnership of Danish companies that will establish green hydrogen production in the Greater Copenhagen Area.
Relying on a higher share of efficient, low-emission combined cycle power plants and wind energy could save €150 billion (US$200 billion) by 2030 while attaining the same CO 2 targets, Siemens says. The country should give greater priority to high-efficiency combined cycle power plants and wind power, the company suggests.
European launch markets in 2015 will be the UK, Denmark and Germany; more markets will be added in 2017. The full under-floor cover and aerodynamically designed clearance lights reduce wind resistance and contribute to improved fuel efficiency and handling stability. Sales of the FCV began in Japan last December.
Most recently, Toyota announced that its fuel cell sedan would also be available in the UK, USA, Germany and Denmark during the summer of 2015. Honda next year will offer Californians futuristic sedans that can travel 300 miles (480 km) or more on a tank of hydrogen gas while emitting nothing more toxic than pure water vapor.
Although currently there aren’t many bidirectional EV chargers out there, all contain internal converters. For instance, solar panels clearly capture the most energy during the day, wind turbines when it is windy, and so on. This means that they can handle the electrical conversion back from DC to AC. Save Money.
” – Elon Musk “Within a decade, the internal combustion engine automobile is likely to look exactly like what it is – a machine that converts gasoline into much more heat than forward motion, a bizarre antiquity.” ” – Alexandra Paul “In order to have clean air in cities, you have to go electric.”
“A car must be able to be recharged in Italy in exactly the same way as in Denmark, Germany or France,&# she was quoted saying in an edition of Die Welt to appear Monday. » See also: 9 Electric Cars 100 Years Old or More » Get Gas 2.0 by RSS or sign up by email. About Gas 2.0 on It’s On!
Wind and solar parks produce a large portion of their energy. Then, as now, wind farms are operating off the world’s coasts—but not all of these offshore sites are connected to the mainland via underwater power cables. Some of the wind farms instead sit in clusters more than 100 kilometers out at sea.
At the Clean Energy Ministerial in Washington, DC, 19-20 July, ministers reaffirmed their commitment to previously-announced targets for the deployment of electric vehicles, which the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates will create global market momentum leading to at least 20 million electric vehicles on the road worldwide by 2020.
Denmark has been a global leader in sustainability, and has pledged to reduce its carbon emissions by 70% by 2030. While the country is one of the world’s largest producers of wind and solar renewable energy, it faces the issue of renewable energy being weather-dependent and prone to fluctuation.
Renewable energy technologies could generate 40% of the world’s electricity by 2050, according to research presented at the International Scientific Congress “Climate Change: Global Risks, Challenges & Decisions”. Professor Petersen. With respect to biofuels, Dr.
The Climate Change Commission has recommended setting a time limit on light vehicles with internal combustion engines entering, being manufactured, or assembled in Aotearoa as early as 2030. Slovenia, Iceland, the Netherlands, Ireland, India, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, Germany and the United Kingdom all have 2030 deadlines.
Bradley & Associates, commissioned by the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) and the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), examines key drivers of EV adoption in the US, Europe and China, with an emphasis on vehicle charging scenarios and infrastructure. The EDISON (Electric Vehicles in a Distributed and Integrated Market using Sustainable Energy and Open Networks) research consortium will seek to match power generation from wind turbines on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, with the power consumption of charging plug-in electric cars.
Before the stricter regulations were implemented, sulfur emissions from the shipping industry were estimated to cause the premature death of 50,000 Europeans each year, because the sulfur forms particles that are swept inland by the wind. For vessels around Denmark, the corresponding figure is 6-8%, depending on time period.
Caroline Reichert, an RWE spokeswoman, noted that the idea here is to ensure that "a car can be recharged in Italy in exactly the same way as in Denmark, Germany or France." Neutral Kaitou KID @ Apr 19th 2009 4:45PM not if the electricity is from ultra efficient solar panels, hydroelectric dams or wind. Neutral who? @
So far Israel, Denmark, Australia , Hawaii and California’s Bay Area have plans to implement the Better Place model. Wind, solar and nuclear could easily change our electrical sources. To electrify transportation, we are looking at new generation so that would be a mix of natural gas and wind. — Dean Hewitt 20.
Despite heavy use of bicycles and EVs, each Dutch person emits about 50% more CO2 than the citizens of nearby France, UK or Denmark, or twice as much as nearby Sweden. 2023 electric car market share by country, from Wikipedia However, as a nation, Netherlands lags behind standout countries in terms of per capita emissions.
