The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is now available for purchase or lease at several dealerships in northern and southern California, as well as a few in Oregon. Add one more battery-electric vehicle to the list of electric cars for sale in California (if not the rest of the U.S.).

Chevrolet announced a low-mileage lease on the new 2014 Spark EV 1LT ( earlier post ) for as low as $199 per month for 36 months, with $999 due at lease signing including security deposit (tax, title, license dealer fees extra), making the vehicle one of the most affordable EVs on the market.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). Almost nine of 10 customers who traded in a vehicle as part of their purchase are new to the Chevrolet brand.

While the selection of hybrid models in the US has more than doubled since 2007, only 35% of hybrid vehicle owners choose to purchase a hybrid again when returning to market in 2011, according to recent analysis by Polk. Los Angeles; San Diego; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle) are no more loyal to hybrid vehicles than the nation at large.
