A group of US automobile dealers filed a lawsuit (Case 1:12-cv-01935-TWT) on 4 June with the United States District Court, Northern District Of Georgia, Atlanta Division accusing the Indian truck manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd. Mahindra told the dealers that its light trucks and SUVs were ready for delivery to the US market.

The Hyundai Motor Group has made a $10 billion investment to build and sell electric vehicles in North America; the first is the 2023 Electrified GV70 built at the new manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Alabama.

The introduction of the all-new 2023 GV70 EV (or Electrified GV70 in Genesis talk to distinguish it from the gas-powered GV70) follows stablemates G80 EV and GV60 EV , giving the seven-year-old company a compact and midsize EV SUV, along with a midsize sedan powered only by electricity.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. Drivers of converted cars have received high levels of cooperation from dealer service departments so far. They are early adopters, buying "Version 1.0" PHEVs with "Good Enough to Get Started" batteries.
