Growth came from Mustang Mach-E (BEV), which totaled 1,945 vehicle sales, while F-150 PowerBoost (hybrid) totaled 2,852 for the month, Escape electrified (hybrid and plug-in hybrid) sales totaled 3,617—up 125% over last year. Explorer Hybrid sales also had a big increase of 132% over a year ago on sales of 1,156 SUVs.

With the fully electric Mustang Mach-E, Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid and Escape and Explorer hybrids, overall electrified vehicle sales rose 56.1% Despite winter weather that impacted much of the nation’s central region, F-Series gained both retail sales and share. SUV sales were down 10.2% to 8,516 units.

Ford brand SUVs had a record-setting month—the company’s best April ever—with sales of 62,730 vehicles. This included record sales of the all-new Edge, up 78%, and Escape up 5%. Edge is now turning on dealer lots in just 10 days. In April, 2015 EcoBoost F-150 sales were a record 63% of all retail sales.

This is quite unfortunate, as the Mach-E is proving its popularity in Ford’s dealer lots. Ford has noted that the Mustang Mach-E is turning in just four days on dealer lots and transacting at $45,800. . In April alone, Ford sold 3,365 F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid pickups and 3,695 electrified Ford Escape SUVs.
