Honda will further develop its dealer network as more hydrogen fueling stations become available. Honda has deployed fuel cell vehicles in the US, Germany and Japan, including the FCX Clarity, which was named the 2009 World Green Car. The first production fuel cell vehicle, introduced to the US and Japan (December 2002).

Insight sales in Japan from launch. Honda’s Insight ( earlier post ) ranked as the best-selling car among all new vehicle registrations in Japan in April—excluding mini-vehicles with displacement of less than 660cc—with sales of 10,481 units, according to data from the Japan Automobile Dealers Association.

The Honda FCV Concept made its world debut in Japan on 17 November, followed by an announcement that Honda will provide FirstElement Fuel with $13.8 The original Honda FCX became the first EPA- and CARB-certified fuel-cell vehicle in July 2002. Honda was the first manufacturer to create a fuel-cell vehicle dealer network (2008).
