Plenty of cops and cabdrivers drove Diplomats and Gran Furies over the following decade, and all the faux-velour inside and opera lights outside couldn't erase that. Meanwhile, Dodge dealers were asking $4,991 for new '78 Diplomats ($24,286 today).

Today's Junkyard Find is one of the very last Diamantes sold here, now residing in a Denver car graveyard. There was a time when Mitsubishi dealers in North America offered just about every kind of car and light truck for sale. The Lancer finally got the axe after 2018 , while the Galant disappeared here after 2012.
