The US Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has selected 10 projects that will receive a share of $55 million in competitive grants that will help put a new generation of zero-emission buses on the road. Grants from the LoNo program help transit agencies integrate more of these advanced buses into their fleets.

Like the Recovery Act-funded projects, the annual Clean Cities projects include grants for vehicles, infrastructure, and education. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state. Dallas-Fort Worth is the first metro area CleanFUEL USA and Ferrellgas are jointly targeting to develop 8-10 propane refueling stations. The DFW metroplex is the fourth largest metro area in the country with many school districts, municipal entities and private businesses operating fleet vehicles with propane.
