The digesters will use the waste to produce biomethane to be converted into renewable compressed natural gas fuel. The project will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting food waste from landfills that release methane gas directly into the atmosphere. in Oakland (Alameda County), will receive a total of $680,000.
