P2G systems use electrolysis powered by renewable energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen—i.e., P2G converts electrical energy to chemical energy in the form of hydrogen. Constraining storage solutions to “electricity-in, electricity-out” only will increase the cost of intermittency.
