Cool Planet has devised a biomass-to-liquids thermochemical conversion process that simultaneously produces liquid fuels and sequesterable biochar useful as a soil amendment. HF Sinclair selected Topsoe as a technology provider for the production of renewable fuels at three facilities: Sinclair, Wyoming; Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Artesia, New Mexico. All three facilities have now successfully been put into operation and deliver renewable diesel into the United States transportation market.

Joule, the developer of a process for the solar conversion of CO 2 to liquid fuels, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with DNV GL, a leading provider of technical assurance and advisory services to the energy industry. This cleared the catalyst for commercial use at the company’s demonstration plant in Hobbs, New Mexico.

US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) will invest up to $100 million in a Biofuels Infrastructure Partnership to support the infrastructure needed to make more renewable fuel options available to American consumers. USDA will post a Notice of Solicitation of Applications in June.
