I purchased a Rivnut gun yesterday at Parkrose Hardware. Furthermore, if you purchase spacers, make sure the 1/4" bolts actually go through the spacers. I still need to add the spring, cotter-pin and 5mm threaded barrel listed in the instructions, so I hope those come later with the remainder of the kit parts.

They provided an upgrade kit with lock washers and loctite to remedy the problem. Based on a suggestion from another 914 AC customer, I purchased some long 8mm bolts to lower the transmission end about 8 inches and still keep it stable. The instructions for the AC kit tell you to slide the motor speed control box through the two-inch hole that was cut in the wall between the engine compartment and the rear luggage compartment. Electro Auto forgot to include the post terminals for the most-positive and most-negative connections in the kit.

Here is the 9-in-1 wire for the AC kit pulled through the grommet between the passenger compartment and the fuel compartment. WARNING: the DC kit instructions call for 1/4"-20 x 1/2" bolts to hold on the DC-DC converter; however, the holes actually take 10-32 x 3/8" bolts instead. I finally got to work on the electric car again today.

In the original kit instructions, the regen relay turns on the brake lights when the AC controller is in regen mode. Again, this involves purchasing a normally closed relay so that when the brake lights come on, it opens up and lets the regen circuit activate on the AC controller. I recommend this alteration to anyone using this kit!

The wife was with the baby and my neightbor was on vacation so I decided to purchase a brake bleeding kit. Replace the valve and attach the bleeding kit to the end of valve. One guy pushing in on the pedal while the other guy is releasing the pressure at the caliper. Pump the handle and build up the vacuum in the fluid catcher.
