Refineries in the Americas produce a greater share of gasoline per barrel of crude oil than refineries in other world regions

Green Car Congress

The International Energy Agency’s Monthly Oil Statistics shows that there are differences in refinery output throughout the world. In the Americas, gasoline accounted for just above 40% of the products refined from petroleum in 2019, while in Europe and Asia Oceania, gasoline was less than 20%. US DOE.

EU-Funded Project Targets Sustainable Production of Ethyl Levulinate from Biomass as Diesel Miscibile Biofuel

Green Car Congress

The project will also use fast pyrolysis to convert the residue left over from biofuel production to bio-oil for subsequent upgrading to DMB. In addition to the Carbolea Research Group, the DIBANET consortium comprises partners from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Greece, Hungary and the UK. Gasoline has an LHV of about 44 MJ/kg.

Study reviews pathways for recycling CO2 into fuels using renewable or nuclear energy; concludes co-electrolysis with FT production of fuels could be cost-competitive with diesel or gasoline

Green Car Congress

The new review paper analyzes dissociation methods including thermolysis, thermochemical cycles, electrolysis, and photoelectrolysis of CO 2 and/or H 2 O, and then identifies co-electrolyzing H 2 O and CO 2 in high temperature solid oxide cells to yield syngas, and then producing gasoline or diesel from the syngas in a catalytic reactor (e.g.
