When this publication began in 2006 commercially available electric vehicles were a novelty; the idea of a mainstream EV was part of a vision of a sustainable transportation system of the future. You could argue a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) does that, but that’s not really true. A more upright front. My situation was a real choice.
