The Environmental Protection Agency, EPA , rates fuel economy at 40 highway when running in gasoline mode only. Clean Fleet Report ran a few test loops to get a feel for real world fuel economy and electric range. The Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle is available, but it’s only sold in select areas of California.

Take the Hyundai Tucson compact crossover, replace the rear section with a truck bed, and voilà…the Hyundai Santa Cruz is born! The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. It may seem like a small thing, but for some not having that connecting point at a 90º angle will affect access.

Fuel economy is EPA rated at 23/29/25 mpg for the turbocharged CX-50. This allows the driver to select the drive modes of Normal, Sport, Off-Road and Tow (when connected to a trailer, where it is rated at 3,500 pounds). In addition, we are often invited to manufacturer events highlighting new vehicles or technology.
