What the Volt has that electric cars lack is the ability to extend its range by means of burning gasoline, the most popular fuel among cars in the US. Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. We are addicted to the gasoline tax both at the State and Federal level.
