When EV batteries degrade enough to be unsuitable for cars (about 70% capacity remaining), they are re-used for electricity storage. Interestingly, approximately one-third of EV drivers have home rooftop solar, so their electricity is coming from sunshine, saving fuel costs as well as the environment.
