A study by a team of researchers from the US, Germany and Canada has found that sustainable aviation jet fuels show up to a 70% reduction in particle mass emission compared to a fossil fuel. Reductions up to 70% in non-volatile particle mass emission compared to the fossil reference fuel were observed at low power settings.

A study by researchers from the University of Denver and the University of Puget Sound indicates that high-mileage light-duty fleets contribute higher emissions and emissions share than expected based on their actual numbers in the fleet. Most emission inventory calculations use a computer model to estimate the fleet’s emissions.
