I drove through that area multiple times, round trip, and the connection failed each time before restarting a mile or two down the road. I liked the Tiguan well enough as a commuter car. For whatever reason, the wireless Apple CarPlay connection dropped in the same spot. The price feels about $2K too steep.

The tango (commuter cars) says they only need 50 million to become profitable.

This is the car that we take on family trips, and it is also the daily commute car now that the EV1 has been returned to GM. Toyota has made these cars for fleet use since 1996, and there are several cars with well over 100,000 miles on them that are going strong - on the original battery packs.

The way the EPA vehicle standards are structured, the average of each automaker’s fleet (all of the light-duty vehicles manufactured in a given year) must meet targets of grams/mile of specified pollutants each year.
