The Colombian city of Cartagena has ordered 147 Scania Euro 6 gas buses for its new transport system as part of Scania’s largest deal to date on Euro 6 gas technology in South America. Sotramac will take delivery of 58 18-meter articulated gas buses, equipped with 320 hp engines and a capacity for 160 passengers.

The City of Bogota, Colombia, has launched a pilot project to spur the use of electric vehicles in Bogota’s center-city taxi fleet. The first taxis are expected to be operational in the city in the next few months. On 29 December 2011, the City of Bogota enacted Decree No. 677 to support the project over a three-year period.
