Norwegian startup Blastr Green Steel is planning to establish a green steel plant with an integrated hydrogen production facility in Inkoo, Finland. Fortum has developed the Joddböle area since the dismantling of its Inkoo coal-fired power plant there in 2017-2020. The production is planned to start by end of 2026.

Energy company SGH2 is bringing the world’s biggest green hydrogen production facility to Lancaster, California. The City of Lancaster will host and co-own the green hydrogen production facility, according to a recent memorandum of understanding.

In a project ( DE-FC26-04NT42237 ) funded by the US Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne has developed a high-pressure dry-solids feed pump that could make gasification economically competitive by improving efficiencies and introducing low-rank Western coal as a viable feedstock option. New geothermal power came on line in Kenya, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Turkey, and Mexico, as well as Oregon, Nevada and Utah in the United States. In Nevada, NV Energy is looking to replace coal plants with 300 MW of renewable energy, including geothermal.
