Researchers at the University of Calgary (Canada) have developed the Petroleum Refinery Life-cycle Inventory Model (PRELIM). Annual GHG emissions from a large refinery are comparable to the emissions of a typical 500 MW coal-fired power plant. —Abella and Bergerson.
