An advanced biofuel has a carbon footprint that is 50% or less of conventional gasoline and OBE plans to start the certification process by Q4 2010. Part of the process btus come from the waste-steam from an electric cogeneration plant next to the facility. As a result, the carbon impact of the process is reduced.
