JERA and IHI to demo ammonia co-firing at a large-scale commercial coal-fired power plant

This will be the world’s first demonstration project in which a large amount of ammonia will be co-fired in a large-scale commercial coal-fired power plant. Kawasaki’s liquefied hydrogen carrier departs to pick up first cargo

This vessel was developed to provide a means of transporting liquefied hydrogen at 1/800 of its original gas-state volume, cooled to –253°C, safely and in large quantities over long distances by sea. Consortium moves ahead with HESC pilot for conversion of Australian coal to LH2 for transport to Japan
