There are many separate vehicle tax categories in Norway, from simple sales taxes (VAT), to NOx tax, CO2 tax, weight tax, and more. Furthermore, there are also increased taxes for combustion vehicles, most notably related to CO2 emissions. The Nissan Leaf has fallen from #6 to #15. Pull forward ahead of tax changes.

With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. Then as the sun sets in the West, hopefully the battery pack would have enough juice to power the house for the rest of the evening. .

An on-board computer system will indicate to the driver the remaining power supply and the nearest charging spot. Nissan, through its joint venture with NEC, has created a battery pack that meets the requirements of the electric vehicle and will produce it in mass volume. Electric vehicles will be available for customers in 2011.
