Considering the cost of batteries, these are disposable cars. There is significant cause vs. effect debate on CO2. The problem for the left is that NG is still a carbon based fuel (note: you are a carbon based lifeform and exhale 12 liters of CO2 a minute.). Then I recall that my laptop batteries barely ever last four years.

And many of these vehicles are large SUVs and trucks, with near or above 100 kWh battery packs which produce significant CO2 emissions in their mining and manufacturing process. It is like incentivizing automakers to produce ICE vehicles with larger gas tanks instead of a higher MPG rating. Effective Date: Jan 1, 2022.
