This is what Toyota has done with the all-new 2022 Tundra, which we previewed in a Texas-based drive program last week. With choices of gasoline or a gasoline-electric (hybrid) engine, rear-wheel (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), the 2022 Tundra gives buyers multiple options of power and fuel economy. Fuel economy – same as SR5.
Without decisive action, climate change this century is likely to accelerate at a much faster pace and cause more environmental damage than predicted, according to Professor Chris Field of Stanford University, and a leading member of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The Sequoia’s styling follows the blocky look of Toyota’s full-size Tundra truck. The look works better on the outside than it does on the Tundra – and better on the Sequoia’s outside than its inside. The climate and audio buttons are easy enough to learn and use, and I appreciated the nice amount of storage in the center console area.
We will do a full Road Test in the coming months, reviewing the Sequoia in detail, including real world fuel economy. Fuel economy numbers have not been announced, but the same gasoline-hybrid power plant in the Toyota Tundra pickup gets 20 mpg city/24 highway/22 combined. Power and Efficiency. Smooth Performer.

Convenience.
It is far more decisive than the six-speed Aisin unit it replaces while also providing a closer ratio set for improved fuel economy. Piano style buttons for the climate control are welcomed (no fiddly touchscreen here), as is a logical array of off-road controls set near the gear shift. And the changes don’t stop there.

The Toyota Tundra or Ford F-150 Hybrid are primarily parallel hybrids without a plug. Its also worse than the city, highway, and combined EPA fuel economy ratings for the Ford F-150 Hybrid, which are 22/24/23 mpg. Though, it might hobble to get there. The engineers didnt elaborate on Eco mode.
