Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced the “ Clean Cars Nevada ” initiative, which will evaluate the adoption of new regulations to provide Nevadans with more choices for low and zero emission electric passenger cars and trucks at dealerships throughout the state beginning in 2024.

Californians for Zero Emission Vehicles (CalZEV), a coalition of public health, environmental and electric vehicle industry organizations, announced its strong support for the Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) measure currently before the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CalZEV expects CARB to make a decision on the ICT in September 2018.

A new brief published by the International Transport Forum (ITF)—an intergovernmental organization at the OECD with 59 member countries— identifies proven measures that decrease road freight’s CO 2 emissions. This will offset any expected efficiency gains and lead to an increase in emissions by 2050, not a reduction.

A report released by C40 Cities finds that consumption-based emissions from nearly 100 of the world’s big cities already represent 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has released the draft 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan —the third update to the state’s initial 2008 Scoping Plan. The draft 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan was developed by the California Air Resources Board in collaboration and coordination with multiple state agencies.
