British Airways invests in LanzaJet; SAF offtake agreement

British Airways will invest in LanzaJet’s first commercial-scale Freedom Pines Fuels facility in Georgia and acquire cleaner burning sustainable aviation fuel from the plant. The plant in Georgia is due to begin construction this year. BA expects the fuel to be available to power a number of its flights by the end of 2022.

EPA announces $46M for latest Diesel Emissions Reduction Act funding

Over the last three years, EPA has provided nearly $300 million in grants and rebates to modernize diesel fleets with cleaner heavy-duty trucks and equipment, according to EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler. Under this competition, EPA anticipates awarding between 40 and 70 assistance agreements. Applicants may apply until 16 March 2021.

EPA announces ~$44M in DERA funding to reduce emissions from diesel engines

Applicants may request funding to upgrade or replace diesel-powered buses, trucks, marine engines, locomotives and nonroad equipment with newer, cleaner technologies. Region 4 (Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee) will accept proposals requesting up to $2,000,000 in grant funds.

Ford partners with Haier, Trina Solar and Delta Electronics to launch MyEnergi Lifestyle in China

Ford worked with researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology to create a computer model that calculates annual consumption before and after instituting the MyEnergi Lifestyle model, as they did for the similar MyEnergi Lifestyle project in the US. The MyEnergi Lifestyle model also predicts: 32% reduction of PM 2.5.
