GE and Clean Energy Fuels are collaborating to expand the infrastructure for natural gas transportation in the United States. As part of the collaboration, Clean Energy Fuels will initially purchase two MicroLNG plants from GE Oil & Gas. GE’s MicroLNG plant can liquefy natural gas at any point along a gas distribution network.

Qatar Petroleum and Shell announced the first flow of dedicated offshore gas into the Pearl gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant located in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar. The Ichthys project consists of the development of the Ichthys gas and condensate field offshore North West Australia lying in 260 meters (853 feet) of water depth and the construction of an 889-kilometer (552-mile) gas transmission pipeline together with an onshore LNG plant near Darwin in the Northern Territory.
