California ARB approves ACC II rule; 100% of LDVs to be PHEVS, ZEV by 2035; LEV IV emissions requirements

The rule establishes a year-by-year roadmap so that by 2035 100% of new cars and light trucks sold in California will be zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). It does not impact existing vehicles on the road today, which will still be legal to own and drive.

Provisional agreement reached on European CO2 standards for heavy-duty trucks; 30% lower by 2030

The European Parliament and the Council have reached provisional agreement on a regulation setting, for the first time in the EU, strict CO 2 emission standards for trucks. Under the agreement, emissions from new trucks will have to be 15% lower by 2025 and 30% lower in 2030 compared to 2019 emissions.
