EcoDual , LLC, a provider of dual fuel natural gas conversion systems for heavy-duty diesel trucks, has achieved US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliance for installing its systems on 2004 to 2009 Cummins ISX engines. Eligible diesel vehicles, engines and equipment may include drayage trucks; marine engines; locomotives and non-road engines; and equipment or vehicles used in the handling of cargo at a marine or inland water port. These awards will be in addition to EPA’s annual National Clean Diesel Campaign (NCDC) Funding Assistance Program.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to make it easier for manufacturers to gain approval to sell fuel conversion systems. The proposed rule would cover conversions of light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty highway vehicles and engines, and would apply to all clean alternative fuels. Vehicle/Engine Age.

The project was selected for funding by the California Energy Commission, which awarded Sierra Northern Railway and GTI nearly $4 million in March to fund the design and demonstration of the train in Sacramento, with the goal of creating a clean alternative to diesel locomotives.
