Mercedes-Benz is adding a new Estate (wagon) model to its C-Class family starting in September 2014. Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate (S 205) 2014: C 300 BlueTEC HYBRID & C 250 BlueTEC. The hybrid offers silent start and electric driving for a limited distance at speeds up to about 35 km/h (22 mph). l/100 km (54.7 mpg US) NEDC.

It will develop an autonomous vehicle technology prototype for private or public roads at 12-15 mph in 12 months from launch date, with further operation for 12 months of testing. The autonomous bus will serve Texas Southern University, the University of Houston, and Houston’s Third Ward community connecting to Metro buses and light rail.
