A new battery and additional weight reductions allow increased energy efficiency, providing an extended range of around 500 km (311 miles).

Fisker Automotive is partnering with China Grand Automotive Group (CGA), the leading passenger car trader in China, to have Fisker vehicles distributed, marketed and serviced in China. CGA has a network of more than 200 retail stores carrying 40 brands including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus and Lamborghini.

The major sources that provide insurance registration data for China's auto industry have stopped sharing the data, but Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has shared content that allows us to still have access to some of the data. Li Auto didn't specify what the sales figure was based on, though they were apparently insurance registrations.

An extended range version (150 kWh battery) offers up to 295 miles (476 km) range, starting at ¥4 million ($27,000). Domestic automakers like Toyota and Nissan dominate the region’s auto sales.

With “above-expected order rates,” Volvo will build the EX30 at its Ghent, Belgium plant (in addition to China) to meet the growing demand in Europe for low-cost EVS. Despite a slowdown in December, Volvo hit a new sales record in 2023. Volvo’s EV sales were up 70% last year, with over 113K purely electric vehicles sold.
