Sales of the EV models with automaker reported sales were up 11.6% in Q3 versus Q2 2022, according to new analysis from EVAdoption’s EV Sales Scoreboard. Average US sales of the 32 EV models for which OEMs reported sales and that were available in the period July-September, were up an average 10.5%.

Lower prices likely helped Tesla deliver higher sales volumes. According to Kelley Blue Book estimates, Tesla sales in January increased year over year by more than 30%. Sales volumes last month were up year over year by more than 6% but down from December, thanks in part to improved supply and added fleet sales.

Pure EV sales set a record–for the first half of 2022 are up 66% compared to last year in a market that overall is down 20%. Jeep Wrangler 4xe leads PHEVs.

Sales rose 30.4% Shanghai GM’s domestic sales rose 31.8% year on year to 103,097 units; SAIC-GM-Wuling’s sales in China increased 28.7% on an annual basis to 130,193 units, and FAW-GM’s sales in the domestic market were up 39.2% Shanghai GM’s domestic sales rose 31.8% Buick sales rose 31.1% to 11,890 units.

General Motors and its joint ventures posted record sales in China in May. Buoyed by strong demand for the Chevrolet brand and ongoing positive demand for its other brands, GM sales totaled 196,004 units. GM’s sales in the first five months of the year in China reached 1,032,665 units, a 53.9% China results.
