Overall, The EV Project will include the manufacture and installation of more than 15,000 chargers in residential and public locations throughout the United States. A review by the US Department of Energy (DOE) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has found that Li-ion battery maker LG Chem Michigan misused funds awarded to it under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). Less than half of the expected number of jobs had been created to support the project.
