Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). GM says that this is part of its plan to gain exposure for the vehicle and the Chevrolet brand.

GM will introduce the Chevrolet Volt extended range electric vehicle with a starting MSRP of $41,000; after applying the Federal income tax credit of $7,500, the price drops to $33,500. For the first three months of this year, GM’s US dealers delivered more than 49,000 Malibus and 14,000 LaCrosses, representing a 58% increase over the same period last year. Detroit Hamtramck, which builds the Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS, will be equipped to build the Malibu as well, ensuring that Chevrolet can meet market demand.
