It has now re-established it as an electrified sub-brand of GMC. But it’s the EV we’re most interested because it will likely use the 800V electrical architecture from the Kia EV6 and EV9. A sizeable 142kWh battery pack was claimed to cover about 320km between charges. We’re watching on with interest.

BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. And if we’re guessing, we reckon it could be called the Ranger Lightning (see above). GMC Sierra EV ute – it shares plenty with the Chevrolet Silverado underneath, so no surprise the GMC version is set to adopt electrification. Soon, apparently.

Finally, in a first-of-its-kind partnership in the United States, Mitsubishi announced a strategic alliance with Oregon to develop an electric car charging infrastructure in the state. The big problems now is how to create a battery that can charge rapidly and infrastructure to charge them. If you charge with solar, is way less.
