A Tesla Cybertruck owner from Austin, Texas recently shared a number of insights following a demo drive of the new Model Y. Tesla recently started offering demo drives of the revamped all-electric crossover. That being said, the Tesla owner noted that the single turn stalk felt almost cheap , perhaps because it was extremely light.

As the new Tesla Model Y arrived at a local showroom for Demo Drives, I swiftly signed up for one to compare the legacy model to what the company is hoping is an even better version of its best-selling vehicle. My favorite tidbit of information was regarding the ambient lighting. This was a big improvement.

The lights and music in the garage and throughout the house were powered by the truck, along with the kitchen where the hors d’oeuvres were being prepared. What excites me is the idea of cheap and accessible hardware! In the brief demo, they showed it had a reasonably high loading capacity (holding plant-watering water cans, and lifting bars of aluminum in the factory). Also, doing a live demo without a tether (safety catch rope) is braver than people know. Am I blown away?

Towing setup is relatively easy, with the Blue Oval offering the ability to have the pickup run through all the lights automatically so the driver can check them. In our demo, the company focused on cranes and snowplows. Though these are not cheap trucks. While this can be achieved via the Sync 4.0 liter diesel V8.

Arc has built the first models of its much-anticipated Arc Sport 500hp electric wake boat, and we got a chance to take it for a quick demo in Long Beach, CA and holy heck, this thing rips. The boat is quite quiet at low speeds and some light vibration can be felt through the floor, but it’s a lot less than you’d get from a fossil machine.
