And in any case, an inflexible approach to regulation has caused the cost of new nuclear to balloon – despite it being perhaps the most obvious solution to our long-term energy needs. Because energy is a bigger part of the household budget of poorer people than richer people, this is a regressive tax. Gas is the only answer.
