has added 92 hybrid-electric trucks to its delivery fleet by converting standard FedEx delivery trucks to hybrid-electric systems. The addition of the 92 trucks increases the FedEx fleet of hybrid-electric vehicles by more than 50%, from 172 to 264. The hybrid conversions were produced in Charlotte, N.C. FedEx Corp.

The FedEx fleet of hybrid-electric vehicles has leapt by more than 50 per cent from 172 to 264 after the company added 92 hybrid-electric trucks to its delivery fleet by converting existing models. ISB EPA 07 200hp EGR diesel engine and an Eaton hybrid-electric system featuring lithium-ion batteries for energy storage.

The EPA rates fuel economy, when using the hybrid gasoline-only engine at 30 miles per gallon. In 464 miles driving through Southern California, Clean Fleet Report achieved a combined 38.8 Clean Fleet Report, on an all in-town test loop, never exceeding 45 mph, and encountering many stop lights, achieved 46.2 New Design.
