Hyundai Motor Company and Shell are embarking on a new strategic collaboration to explore ways to offer lower carbon emissions products and services and to reduce emissions across their operations. Genesis drivers will be able to charge on-the-go, at home and at destinations with Shell.

Groupe Renault is beginning the first large-scale pilot schemes in alternating-current, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging in electric vehicles. Groupe Renault places the reversible charger inside vehicles, so it just requires a simple, inexpensive adaptation of the existing charging terminals to implement V2G charging.

The truck battery takes three to four hours to charge. When fully charged, the vehicle has a range of up to 100 kilometers (62 miles). Thus, the electric truck can theoretically complete a full production day without any additional recharging. The truck will travel a 2km route (1.2 tons of CO 2 annually.

Compared with our prototype, quite a few technical changes have been made: the power supply is now ensured by eleven battery packs in all – and wherever possible we have used already proven components that are ready, or very close to ready, for use in series production. The charging standard used is the Combined Charging System, CCS.
