At the second-annual Climate Mayors Summit in Honolulu, Hawaii, 127 cities and 15 counties from across 38 states joined the Climate Mayors Electric Vehicle Purchasing Collaborative, and committed to purchasing more than 2,100 electric vehicles by the end of 2020.

Another three are on the West Coast and in Hawaii: Seattle (4), Portland (5), and Honolulu (6). LEAF performs well because of a good charging infrastructure, a dense urban footprint and congestion. Honolulu, with 26 quick chargers, has one of densest charging grids in the US. Los Angeles. Chicago and Denver (tied).

smart USA will begin deploying a fleet of 250 electric drive vehicles across the United States this fall, targeting key electrification leadership cities and Department of Energy grant areas. The battery can also be charged using a common household 110V outlet. The smart fortwo electric drive has made its debut in the United States.

Better Place has started its initial deployment of EV infrastructure in Hawaii, with the launch of a project to incorporate its electric-vehicle infrastructure in Honolulu, in partnership with Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts’ Sheraton Waikiki Resort and Hawaiian Electric Company. Other charging stations will be at three Hawaiian Electric sites.

Coulomb Technologies, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure, has secured $14 million in Series B funding in a round led by Voyager Capital and Rho Ventures. Since 2007, Coulomb has been introducing networked charging stations for EVs since 2007. also participated in the round.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) has agreed to purchase five 35-foot Proterra Catalyst E2 electric buses and five 125 kW Proterra plug-in charging systems. Proterra charging systems utilize the universal J1772-CCS Type 1 charging standard, enabling buses, utility vehicles and cars to share the same chargers.
